Aminya Street upgrade is going ahead!
I’m very pleased to confirm that Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has allocated $1.4M in the 20/21 Council budget to upgrade Aminya Street shops.
This comes after I launched a petition in September last year, calling for the much needed upgrade.
Historic Belmont Tramway Signs in Carindale
To help preserve the history of the Belmont Tramway, Council has installed information signs at locations of the old stops along Old Cleveland Road.
These two signs on Old Cleveland Road provide unique facts and historical information about the tramway operation whilst displaying artwork from the talented students at Seven Hills State School.

Delivered: Wynnum Rd & Murarrie Rd Intersection Upgrade
Last year, I announced Council's plans to upgrade the intersection of Wynnum Rd and Murarrie Rd, Tingalpa.
I'm excited to announce this upgrade is complete and the intersection is now signalised!
Green Camp Road Corridor Upgrade finished!
Brisbane City Council has completed a major upgrade of the Green Camp Road corridor, reducing congestion and improving safety for all road users.
The project has also delivered major upgrades to the Tilley Road and Green Camp Road intersection as well as the Rickertt Road and Green Camp Road intersection.
This upgrade will reduce peak travel times by up to 50 per cent, helping local drivers get home up to 13-minutes sooner.
Council is taking real action on congestion across the city, with 90 congestion-busting projects to get residents home quicker and safer with more travel options.
Official naming of Irene Longman Reserve
As part of International Women's Day last year, I launched a petition calling on Brisbane City Council to rename Barrack Road Park in Cannon Hill to Irene Longman Reserve; in recognition of Queensland's first female parliamentarian.
I'm pleased to advise that exactly one year later, on International Women's Day 2019, the park was officially renamed in her honour.
Carmichael Park - Community Facility Update
