CALLING ALL DISC GOLF FANS

I have some great news for any disc golf fans in Chandler; Council is installing a disc golf course in Cadogan Street Park!

Construction of the disc golf course has started this week and is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

This project is part of Council's commitment to creating more to see and do in a clean and green Brisbane, with more opportunities to enjoy Brisbane's beautiful climate and connect with family and friends in the places that make our city great.

The course will contain 18 concrete tee-off pads for discs to be thrown as well as 18 metal baskets that are scattered around the park. Game play signage will also be installed for those who want to learn how to throw their disc in the ring!

Council welcomes your feedback on this course and will reevaluate its suitability to Cadogan Street Park after an initial 12 month trial.

It should be noted that some sections of the park will be temporarily unavailable during the construction of the course and that local residents in close proximity to work areas may experience some construction noise and dust. Due to workplace health and safety requirements, reversing beepers cannot be turned off. Some tree trimming and weed removal will also be carried out as part of the works.

WHAT IS DISC GOLF?

Disc Golf is a family-friendly activity that is fast growing in popularity in Brisbane and around the world, especially in the United States where players are sometimes paid up to six figures! All you need is a disc and a course.

Players compete by making their way through the course, with the aim of throwing a frisbee-like disc into the target baskets in the fewest number of throws.
