Park Hill Village fetches dog off-leash area
In late 2015, Park Hill residents petitioned Council to provide a dog off-leash area for the estate.
Council has assessed the nine local parks within the estate as to their suitability for an off-leash area, including Governor Tce Park, Portwine Street Park, Condamine Place Park and others.
Coochin Place Park Upgrade begins
Prior to the last election, I committed to upgrading parks in the estate off Bognor Road, as many of the parks in this estate have not been upgraded since they were installed in the mid 90s!
Last year we completed a major upgrade of Monterey Circuit Park and installed a new Dog-Off-Leash area in Robinson Park. The situation is improving, but there is still more work to be done.

New milestone for Cannon Hill Links
The Cannon Hill Community Links project has met another milestone, with construction on the golf course and residential subdivision now commencing.
Works are expected to take three years, concluding in 2019.

Council builds new park in Wakerley
A new playground is set to be built in Behan Crescent Park in Wakerley. The installation will begin on Monday 2 November 2015, weather permitting.
Council's Annual Budget has allocated $122,000 for these works, which will complete a all parks east of Arenga Street.

Cannon Hill Community Links October Update
Last week I visited the site of the Fursden Road Landfill Remediation Project at Cannon Hill.
The site stopped accepting waste in 1977, but the capping at the time didn't stop rainwater from seeping through the waste and making its way into Bulimba Creek.

Kevin Whitmee Park set to open
Kevin Whitmee Park is set to open to the public on 22 August 2015.
The park is named in honour of Tingalpa local Kevin Whitmee, who is well known in the district for his long standing contribution to Tingalpa State School, the Belmont Tingalpa Lions Club and various charity and philanthropic causes.
Council set to deliver Meals on Wheels at Wakerley
Council has proposed to construct a community facility and kitchen at 880 Manly Rd for Wynnum and Manly District Meals on Wheels. Last year residents gave feedback on the design and now a master plan is available for viewing.

Remediation works begin on Cannon Hill Community Links
A new public golf course for Doboy residents is one step closer with the Lord Mayor announcing that land remediation works would begin mid-year at the Cannon Hill site.
This is an exciting time for our area, this project is a game-changer for Cannon Hill and Carina.

Council completes $1.8 million upgrade of Hemmant parkland
The Hemmant community can now enjoy a thriving community leisure facility, following the completion of the third and final stage of work on Bill Benham Park.
Stage three of the remediation project site at the Poppy Street precinct involved removal of weeds, extensive landscaping and installation of parkland facilities.

Council delivers park upgrades for Doboy families
Doboy Ward Councillor Ryan Murphy is providing more outdoor facilities for residents to enjoy in Doboy Ward, with $139,600 worth of park upgrades completed in November.
Cr Murphy said Council was investing $44.5 million into new and upgraded parks this financial year to provide residents and visitors with attractive parks and recreational facilities.
