Park Hill Village fetches dog off-leash area

DOG OFF-LEASH AREA FOR PARK HILL VILLAGE, MURARRIE

In late 2015, Park Hill residents petitioned Council to provide a dog off-leash area for the estate.

I subsequently committed to deliver a Dog Off-Leash for the estate, if re-elected in 2016.

We are now ready to start work.

Council has assessed the nine local parks within the estate as to their suitability for an off-leash area, including Governor Tce Park, Portwine Street Park, Condamine Place Park and others.

Due to a variety of environmental and constructability factors, Evergreen Place Park was the only suitable location identified. Detailed design has now been completed, as shown in the concept plan below.

While this site will only provide a medium sized off-leash area, this is considered optimal as it will not generate extra traffic flows or parking issues for nearby residents. Council is currently undertaking community consultation on the proposal.

If approved by local residents, works will commence in May 2017, weather permitting.

I would like to thank all those residents who have lobbied Council for many years on this issue.
