Tilley Road to reopen in time for Christmas
Council's $28M Green Camp Road corridor upgrade continues to move ahead with Tilley Road set to reopen from next week. The upgrade reached a new milestone in November, with the concrete culverts used to drain water underneath Tilley Road, now in place. The project is on track for completion in 2019.
Three park upgrades nearing completion
I'm excited to advise three new park upgrades are near completion around the ward! These include:
Coochin Pl Park, Tingalpa
Hunter St Park, Manly West
Billan St Park, Carina
Budget ‘brings home the bacon’ for Doboy Ward
This budget, like those handed down previously, retains our 'Strong' credit rating and delivers an operating surplus to Council.
It's only through strong financial management that Council can continue to deliver more than ever before for our suburbs.
Facelift for Hunter Street Park, Manly West
As promised, the major upgrade of Hunter Street Park has commenced!
The old playground will be removed and a new modern play system will be installed.
Council will also be installing a new seat and making some minor changes to the landscaping. This will include the planting of two new trees and erection of a sandstone wall. I have included a copy of the design plans in this letter for your reference.
Coochin Place Park Upgrade begins
Prior to the last election, I committed to upgrading parks in the estate off Bognor Road, as many of the parks in this estate have not been upgraded since they were installed in the mid 90s!
Last year we completed a major upgrade of Monterey Circuit Park and installed a new Dog-Off-Leash area in Robinson Park. The situation is improving, but there is still more work to be done.
ECQ release final Doboy boundaries
Recently the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) undertook a redivision of Brisbane City Council wards, to bring wards into population quotas.
Despite Doboy being within quota, changes to other wards had flow on effects to this ward, which included a proposal to split Wakerley down the unformed alignment of Tilley Road.
