Free CPR Courses at the Carindale Library

Over the last few months I have received many requests for Council to put on free CPR and First Aid courses for the community.

I’m pleased to announce that through my ward office, we will be funding a series of free CPR courses later this year.

The first of these is taking place on Wednesday 2nd November from 1pm-4pm in the large meeting rooms at the Carindale Library.

Allocations for this will be rewarded on a first in, first served basis. Depending on the amount of interest, further courses may open up later on in the year or early next year.

This is a great opportunity for residents to not only learn how to save a life. It’s also great for those needing a bit of a refresher or for those that need the accreditation for work.

The course will be administered by the Australian Red Cross, who have been delivering first aid training for more than 100 years and are a nationally registered training organisation.

What do I need?

Those wanting to apply for the course will need a USI (Unique Student Identifier) that your accreditation can be attributed to.

You can register for a USI or see if you already have one by clicking here.

Before the day, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to the aXcelerate Learner Portal.

You will need to log in and enter your details to complete enrolment PRIOR to the day of training.

The requirements for the course on the day can be found on the Red Cross’ website here.

Information collected on the above form is sent to the Red Cross in order to enrol in the course and verify your certificate.

What do I get?

This course will give those who attend and have enrolled online a digital certificate that is tied to your USI.

Students will receive the nationally recognised statement of attainment for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation which lasts for one year.

Any further questions?
