2024/25 Council Budget: Chandler Overview

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and I know Brisbane residents are feeling the pinch in their household budgets.

That is why the Schrinner Council’s 24/25 budget confirms our commitment to keep Brisbane moving while taking pressure off household rates and rents. The commitments we took to the election have been funded while still delivering a balanced Budget that maintains the cheapest residential rates in southeast Queensland and the most generous pensioner rate remission.

Our budget keeps Brisbane moving by delivering the most significant boost to public transport services in Brisbane’s history and undertaking a global search for the world’s best next-generation traffic management system. The Schrinner Council will continue to offer cut-price green bins at less than $1 a week while we launch an investigation into waste reforms to investigate cost-effective ways to help residents reduce the amount of waste thrown into red bins and landfill.

We’re bringing back the popular $2 Summer Dips this December and upgrading Brisbane’s parks and playgrounds to make its lifestyle even better.

With 89% of budget spending happening in our suburbs, we’re investing in all corners of our city and continuing to make Brisbane an even better place to live, work and play.
