After sitting untouched for over three years, the former Sizzler restaurant that sits on the edge of Westfield Carindale at the corner of Creek Road and Winstanley Street is finally set for an overhaul.
A development application for the site was submitted to the Brisbane City Council on December 22, 2021, to transform the abandoned building into a doggy daycare and training facility.

Hopefully in the coming months construction will start and by the end of 2023, Carindale residents will have a new local shopping centre to call their own.
Update on the Greendale Way Shopping Centre site
As many residents have pointed out, there has been some clearing of vegetation throughout the first week of June at the site on the corner of Greendale Way and Scrub Road in Carindale.

As I mentioned, the aim of this neighbourhood plan is to foster economic growth while protecting the natural environment and meeting the needs of the local community for a more connected suburb.
Residents listened to on Wakerley eyesore redevelopment
Brisbane City Council has imposed strict conditions on the redevelopment of a Wakerley eyesore to ensure its approval does not impact on the amenity of local residents.
Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Chairman Amanda Cooper said Gospel Trust’s proposal to build a community hall was in line with the area's current zoning of ‘emerging community’.
