Free CPR & First Aid Courses

Over the last few months I have received many requests for Council to put on free CPR and First Aid courses for the Chandler Ward community.

I’m pleased to announce that through my ward office, we will be funding a series of free CPR and First Aid courses for local residents.

The first of these to take place is a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (accredited training) on Saturday 14th September 1pm-4pm in the large meeting rooms at the Carindale Library. CPR COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED!

The second is First Aid for babies and children (non-accredited training) on Monday 23rd September 9:30am-1:30pm in the large meeting rooms at the Carindale Library.

Allocations for this will be rewarded on a first in, first served basis. Depending on the amount of interest, further courses may open up later on in the year or next year. You will receive a confirmation email once your spot has been confirmed for the course you have registered for. These courses are for Chandler Ward residents only.

This is a great opportunity for residents to not only learn how to save a life. It’s also great for those needing a bit of a refresher or for those that need the accreditation for work.

The courses will be administered by the Australian Red Cross, who have been delivering first aid training for more than 100 years and are a nationally registered training organisation.

What do I need?

Those wanting to apply for the CPR course will need a USI (Unique Student Identifier) that your accreditation can be attributed to.

You can register for a USI or see if you already have one by clicking here.

Before the day, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to the aXcelerate Learner Portal.

You will need to log in and enter your details to complete enrolment PRIOR to the day of training.

The requirements for the course on the day can be found on the Red Cross’ website here.

Information collected on the above form is sent to the Red Cross in order to enrol in the course and verify your certificate.

What do I get?

The CPR course will give those who attend and have enrolled online a digital certificate that is tied to your USI.

Students will receive the nationally recognised statement of attainment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation which lasts for one year.
