New playground equipment for Carina’s Billan Street Park

As your Councillor, I have been working hard to ensure Carina receives a better level of investment in our parks and public spaces.

Prior to the 2016 Council election, I committed to a major upgrade of Billan Street Park within four years.

The good news is, we are ready to upgrade the park this year!

Brisbane City Council’s 2016/17 budget has allocated $148,000 towards an upgrade for Billan Street Park, Carina. The new playground would replace the existing one, within the same area.

A concept design has been drawn up for this park upgrade and community consultation is currently being undertaken to determine which upgrades you would like to see in the park.

I look forward to hearing what the community has to say and getting this project underway before the end of this financial year.
