Fishing Platform for Carmichael Park now open

NEW FISHING PLATFORM IN CARMICHAEL PARK, TINGALPA

NEW FISHING PLATFORM IN CARMICHAEL PARK, TINGALPA

Earlier this month, I advised that a fishing platform was being installed at Carmichael Park, Tingalpa as part of the Active River Program.

I’m happy to advise the fishing platform is now complete and open for public use!

The new platform is situated where Bulimba Creek flows through Carmichael Park and offers opportunities for recreational enjoyment of our waterways.

As mentioned in my last article, the new fishing platform gives keen fishermen a new opportunity to drop a line in Bulimba Creek, taking advantage of this quiet creek-side location that is already home to local cricket and soccer clubs.

This fishing platform can accommodate up to 10 fishermen at any one time, on the six-metre long, three-metre wide platform.

A fish cleaning table and reticulated water supply has also been inlcuded at this new facility, to allows anglers to fillet their catch on-site.

With a design life of 100 years, this exciting new strucutre will continue to offer recreational opportunities into the future.
