New look for Carindale Library
Generations of eastern suburbs kids, (including myself) have grown up being able to enjoy the incredible facilities provided by the Carindale Library.
It’s actually one of Council’s most popular libraries, with over half a million people visiting it each and every year.
While residents and visitors love the Carindale Library, it’s in danger of being loved to death! The last time it was upgraded was almost a decade ago in 2012.
That’s why I was so pleased to see in Council’s latest budget, Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has allocated $1 million to upgrade the facility to improve the services it offers the public.
In addition, Council has signed a new lease with Westfield, expanding the footprint of the site into the adjacent vacant shopfront.
This will mean more space for children’s activities, meeting rooms, quiet spaces, and computer facilities.
Strong financial management means we can continue to invest in Brisbane City Council’s community facilities, and I’m really looking forward to sharing more about the upgrade in the coming months.
