Three park upgrades nearing completion

I'm excited to advise three new park upgrades are near completion around the ward! These include:

  • Coochin Pl Park, Tingalpa

  • Hunter St Park, Manly West

  • Billan St Park, Carina

I would like to thank those residents who have been waiting patiently for these parks to open.

Council takes the time to make sure everything is safe and ready for use before re-opening the parks.

We are looking forward to doing so very shortly!

COOCHIN PL PARK, TINGALPA

Prior to the last election, I committed to upgrading parks in the estate off Bognor Road, as many of the parks in this estate have not been upgraded since the mid 90s!

As a result, the Lord Mayor and I allocated $107,000 in the 2016-17 budget towards an upgrade of Coochin Park.

This update is almost complete!

Shade cloths are set to be installed later this week, with the park expected to be open by the end of this month.

HUNTER ST PARK, MANLY WEST

Hunter St Park, Manly West

Prior to the 2016 election, I also committed to a major upgrade of Hunter St Park, Manly West.

This commitment was based on overwhelming feedback I received from the local community when doorknocking in the area.

As a result, the Lord Mayor and I allocated $149,000 in the 2016-17 budget towards this upgrade.

The old playground has been removed and the new, modern play system now stands!

Shade cloths are set to be installed later this week and hopefully open for residents by the end of this month.

BILLAN ST PARK, CARINA

Billan St Park, Carina: Upgrade In Progress

BILLAN ST PARK, CARINA

An upgrade for Billan St Park, Carina was yet another election promise.

Accordingly, Council's 2016/17 budget allocated $148,000 towards this upgrade.

The old playground has now been removed and will shortly be replaced with a new one.

I'm excited to advise this upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of July this year!
