Thank you, Doboy

With 82.72% of the vote counted, it appears we have retained Doboy Ward. In fact; we increased our margin.

Thank you to the hundreds of supporters and volunteers, who in tough times put their noses to the grindstone and redoubled their efforts.

This was a hard fought victory.

I would like to thank the Lord Mayor of Brisbane - Graham Quirk and his staff.

To my ward staff, Mark, Hannah, Alana, (and Benjamin and Jess before them) you have all done so well- and whilst I may be the front man, this is your win too! I want to thank my fiance, Emma for her love and support.

Political spouses are the unsung heroes of campaigns and anyone who has run for office will tell you just how important it is to have a strong base at home.

Finally, to the residents of Doboy Ward, both those who voted for me and those who didn't.

My Year 5 teacher at Iona College once told me, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well." That maxim has stayed with me over this last term- and will, going into the next.

Today I recommit myself to the task of being your voice in City Hall. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
